Parent Information Evenings

Busy parents often tell me that they wish there was a was a time-efficient way in which they could find out more about giftedness and what’s available to support their child.

I have therefore decided to again hold a number of information evenings for all interested parents of gifted children.

I really enjoy this opportunity to meet and talk with parents - and parents are thrilled with what they learn at the event and the chance to meet other parents who tell them they’re not alone!

The following free evenings are coming up in 2014 and will run for 90 minutes each:

7:00pm, Thursday, 20 February (at Tecoma Primary School, 1536 Burwood Highway, Tecoma)

This evening will feature me speaking on:

  • What do the terms ‘gifted’ and ‘talented’ mean?
  • How are gifted children identified?
  • What do gifted children need?
  • How can you help your child’s needs to be met?
  • How Thinking Outside The Box programs benefit gifted children

7:00pm, Wednesday, 5 March (at Early Life Foundations Centre, 230 Bay Street, Brighton)

  • Perspectives on parenting and educating gifted children
  • All Day Program overview

7:00pm, Thursday, 1 May (venue TBA, in the Brighton area)

  • Understanding and supporting social and emotional development in gifted children
