Penny Willoughby

Renowned in her field,Penny Willoughbyis an Australian primary educator, tutor, professional learningfacilitator and educational consultant who is passionate about gifted education, personalising learning, creativity, innovation, numeracy teaching, problem-solving, thinking development anddifferentiation.

Following a successful career in the corporate sector, Penny has held a range of educational roles including classroom teacher, school unit leader, Founder and Principal ofThinking Outside The Box professional education services, Vice President of the Victorian Association for Gifted and Talented Children (VAGTC) and Founder and Principal-desinate of Alatus School, an iniative tostart a new independent school in Melbourne to specialise in gifted learning.

Penny holds a Bachelor of Education (Honours, First Class) from the University of Technology, Sydney, where she was also awarded the University Medal for Outstanding Distinction.

Penny founded Thinking Outside The Boxprofessional education servicesin 2006 and continues to own and manage the business.

In her spare time, Penny enjoys cooking, learning French, playing iPad puzzle games, shopping for stationery items at Officeworks, travelling the world and driving her car ("always under the speed limit, officer!"). Penny loves all things French and adores Paris and Provence where she hopes to one day live.

Penny is married to Andrew, a global delivery consultantand builder of great websites like this one! They live in a house named "Pemberley" in Melbourne with Penny's cute little burmese kitten, Manny.
